Chapter 1 · It started in 2021
In 2021 our founder found Himalayan herbs sold raw in Nepal’s open markets, and almost no one at home who knew them. He brought some back and made small batches for friends and family. They asked for more. 8848 Herbs started there.
Chapter 2 · Why the Himalayas
Thin air and a season measured in weeks mean the plant produces less, and concentrates what it does produce.
Cold and high UV force it to generate protective compounds.
Mountain terrain, far from anything industrial, nurtures pure and chemical-free development.
They grow wild, where they’ve always grown, in small quantities, harvested by local communities.
That’s the standard we source to.

I didn’t set out to build a company. I brought herbs back from Nepal in 2021 for people I knew, and it grew from there.
